Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Website. When you send a message through our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide.

Data room accounts. When we create a data room account for you, we collect your name, email address, organization, and the role assigned to your account.

Data room activity. The data room records account activity: sign-ins, documents viewed and downloaded, invitations sent, and, where the AI assistant is enabled for an account, the questions asked and the answers given. These records identify the account that generated them.

We do not collect payment information through this website, and we do not use advertising trackers.

2. Why we collect it

We use this information to respond to inquiries, to operate and secure the data room, to keep an accurate record of access to confidential project documents, and to understand which project matters our potential future partners need information about. Activity records exist because the data room holds confidential material: knowing who accessed what, and when, protects everyone involved in a transaction.

3. The AI assistant

The data room includes an optional AI assistant whose purpose is to help you find documents and information in the room quickly. Its answers are drafted by AI from the filed documents and may contain errors. Validate anything you rely on against the documents themselves or directly with DFH; the assistant is a finding aid, not advice. Questions are processed by Anthropic's Claude models under commercial API terms; the content is not used to train Anthropic's models. Questions and answers are recorded as part of data room activity.

4. Where information is stored

Our website and data room run on managed cloud infrastructure (Lovable Cloud, built on Supabase). Information may be stored on servers outside Canada, and while it is there it is subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

5. Sharing

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers that host and operate our infrastructure, or where the law requires disclosure. Within DFH, activity records are reviewed by the people who administer the data room and the partner relationship.

6. Retention

We keep contact submissions as long as needed to handle the inquiry and our relationship with you. We keep data room account and activity records for the life of the project relationship and any period required for legal and audit purposes, then delete or anonymize them.

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to records we are required to keep. Data room access is by invitation; if you no longer want an account, tell us and we will close it. Write to hello@designforhappiness.ca and we will respond promptly.

8. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Material changes that affect data room users will be flagged in the data room.
